Why Catophoresis?

Why Do We Coat Sunflex Brackets with Cataphoresis?

Long-Lasting Durability, Maximum Corrosion Protection

Wooden pergolas used in your garden or on your terrace become a permanent part of your home. Since pergolas are exposed to demanding weather conditions throughout the year, your investment and effort should provide reliable performance for many years. Products with conventional coatings may corrode and rust within a short period of time, while removing and repainting brackets on an already installed pergola is almost impossible.

In alternative products made from galvanized profiles or sheet metal, the galvanized coating is lost on surfaces that are cut, drilled, or welded during manufacturing. Corrosion can then begin directly at these processed areas, causing the product to rust within a short period of time.

Sunflex Brackets, on the other hand, undergo sandblasting before painting after all cutting, drilling, and welding processes have been completed. They are then coated using an immersion Cataphoresis (KTL) process and finally oven-cured with an electrostatic powder coating. Thanks to this advanced treatment, a minimum of 10 years of corrosion resistance is provided, except in cases of structural damage caused by severe impact.

What Is Cataphoresis Technology?

Cataphoresis coating is an immersion coating process based on electrochemical principles. It is one of the most effective known methods for providing complete corrosion protection to conductive metal components with complex geometries, including hard-to-reach corners and internal surfaces. Its water-based composition also makes it environmentally friendly.

In everyday life, it is the globally accepted standard technology used for corrosion protection in automobiles and in the chassis of buses and trucks.
